Baking 101: Brazo de Mercedes

one of my frustrations is to learn to how to bake..so when ate Joann decided to bake a brazo de mercedes cake, I offered to help out..and with the use of the recipe from “lasang pinoy” (an iphone application with lots of recipes), we gathered all the ingredients

after office hours yesterday, gracie and I drop  by  The Body Shop in robinson's galleria checking out moisturizers.... one of the staff is doing makeover in one of their clients... the make up artist "Via" approach us and plead if she can also do a makeover to us, to help her finish a challenge in the make-up competition she will be joining using body shop products... we agreed but since it was already late,

 my contract was  to end monday, april 18 so i was lucky enough that the company's summer outing was scheduled april 15, so i was able to joined..this year, it was set at caliraya resort club in Lumban Laguna..when i first heard of our venue i thought that it will be in Quezon but apparently it wasn't.:)

according to their website is the resort is  a 7.6 hectares of lush greenery and along the man-made lake. they offer various activities such as earthball, wall climbing, zipline.they also do offer water sports activities such as jetskie, kayaking..though we only tried some of them...

from 1-5 (5 being the highest) i will only rate it with a grade of 3.5..since im not that adventurous and i don't know how to swim, i don't appreciate their activities that much, and also the food they serve was not that good either..i think it will be a good place for team building activities, youth camps or if you have your activities planned ahead of time but if your a large group but no planned activities to be done, you'll just end up exploring the place and trying out their amenities divided in to small groups not as a team.

the graduates OLFU 2011

my couzin liezel graduated last sunday (march 19,2011) with honor.."Magna Cum Laude"..intelligence runs in the blood..(yeah we are humble.:).. i saw her strived with her studies, a consistent scholar and a sweet girl.. and  being the first nurse in our family, i know how hard it is to juggle academic class and clinical RLE class and also  the stress and the pressure after graduation to pass the board..

message to liezel- i know you can do it cuz, and hopefully, you top the board..:) ill try to assist you in any way  in the toxic and also jobless world of nursing , unlike before, i dont know who to ask for advices and which trainings to take.. and like what we have talked about..we'll take graduate school at the same time...

for the nth time..we are proud of you zel..:)

weekend events..:)

the previous week have been a very busy week..juggling work, online shop (http://www.facebook.com/pinkbubbles.shop),  household chores, preparing stuff for theo's bday celebration, getting my gift for barbie and arvin and recently got an  online part time job...

weekend was supposed to be a relaxation day but not for me though,,on friday. i did my one week laundry in the morning and then  went to work,.. after office hours, had my mani, pedi done at a nearby salon, ironed my gown, wrapped my gift for the wedding the next day at the same time assisting kuya jun with our online job and finished the flags for theo's bday..then we slept at 1am..

comes saturday, i woke up at 5am (yes, only 4 hours of sleep),showered, prepared my stuffs then went to the hotel.. i arrived  by 6:30am to have my make up and hair done..toni was late as always..:) we helped barbs for her pictorial and since nanay was not at the hotel, we accompanied the bride in the bridal car going to the church (at least we dont have to take a cab)..the ceremony was cute and touching..cute because the couple were all smiles while reciting their vows it was like they were only having their wedding rehearsal. .hate my hair though because it looks like a disaster, the curls was gone..:)....and like other weddings  the reception was a riot..i was starving to death since i didn't had my breakfast and being part of the entourage, we had the privileged to eat ahead of the guest..yey.. and unintentionally while i was changing to casual clothes, the bouquet throwing for single ladies was held..haha so much for escaping that part..:) went straight to pampanga,and due to  lack of sleep i was asleep while traveling...at home ate erlyn, kuya jun.liezel and other cousins help me pump the balloons and make beautiful arrangements...some of the balloons popped though esp the long ones..:).work for more than an hour online then sleep..

then on sunday..woke up early to set up the garage for theo's bday..kuya oliver set up the sound system and helped me place the hanging balloons.. ...love the output..we didn't hire other helpers so we were all on hands from cooking to preparetion of the food packs for the children guest and on  every single detail of the party..tiring but fulfilled because we saw that theo did enjoyed his party..:)

hopefully a less stressful week ahead..
